Rhythmic Recording, 1992. acrylic on canvas, (24"x18")

This painting was done during a California Arts Project Leadership Institute held at the Walker Ranch in Marin County. It was done in the studio one night as about 8 to 10 musicians conducted a drumming circle for about two hours. The painting was begun and completed during that session. I was working on the Gyre project at the time and this helped me process the ideas concerning rhythm and color for that project. Plus, I just had the most invigorating time and good feelings of all my art experiences.
