Santa Barbara Dreamin', 36"x48" acrylic on canvas
I just visited my sister in Sacramento and got a picture of this painting that I did for her back in '69. This was from a sketch I did of Ann and I was trying the "image inside of image" for a project I was working on. The landscape with people is from a photo of our walk out to Sands Beach from our trailer park on Hollister, in Goleta, CA. It sure doesn't look like that now that the developers have sold it to the rich people. This is my sister, Kathy and her best friend, Nancy. They were high school kids visiting us as the young married college students going to UCSB. Those were the days of "flowers in your hair" and a true love and appreciation for a beautiful day. My eyes water up as I look at this old painting now.
