link to my commercial site

Welcome to my Pottery Albums. This is not my commercial pottery site, however you may have arrived here from that site. I use this gallery to show recent work as well as a forum for discussion of the aesthetic and technical aspects of the pots pictured in the albums. It's now June and I'm through with Spring Market. I'll be heading out fishing with the grandsons so, leave me an email and I'll get back to you when I return. I am planning to try a pit fire this fall and will be making larger, coil and organically shaped pots this summer on my camp trips. We'll see.
Look for new stoneware in the Fall. I'll post some new stuff in October before I take it to Market.
Have a good summer.

I will try to maintain albums that define me as a potter and I will use these albums to explain the processes and aesthetic decisions I make when I am doing my work. So, feel free to browse and enjoy my efforts to explain my passion for pottery.
However, I will try to keep the numbering system updated and remove work that has been sold. So if you want to email me and ask about any pots you see, use the numbers or descriptive titles.

The most recent work is in the first few albums, some with dates.

If you live in the Redlands area, you can email me for my number to call and make an appointment to come by my studio. I am often out of town doing work or gathering materials for my work. So, contact me through the FF-CP site: my commercial pottery site

When I pulled it off the shelf one summer, it had hosted a mud-dauber nest. I waited for whatever process the gestation requires and then bisque fired the pot as is. It has gone through many adventures one of which was being used as a lid on a saggar during firing. But, I just decided to glaze and fire it recently. The crack goes almost all the way through, however, at this writing, it is still in one piece. I plan to fuse it to a wooden block base using beeswax just to keep it in one piece, for awhile at least.

After the decoration ritual, and they are cooled, I usually oil or polish them with mink or beeswax/oil solution to enrich the luster and water proof the pot. If you get one of these, they'll do fine indoors, but still should be oiled once a year or so.
