Pillow-Woman

[collection of Chris H.]

Most of my painting classes at UCSB had us working from live models. I was taking several classes each quarter and was trying other design concepts in other classes too. This work was a combination of my interest in design and form and also a developing interest in neutral colors. I simply stylized one of my sketches into this hard-edge configuration based on the pose of the model.
Chris seemed to appreciate some of my experimentation and I was flattered that he and Cheryl liked this enough to hang it. (there's more to the story)
