Idyll Time, May 2011

So the question is, "did I only do this work because I've nothing else to do? Why do artists make art? What does the art do for the artist who made it? Is there a purpose for art; one that is intrinsic regardless of why the artist thinks it is done? Is all this work having anything to do with anyone who experiences it? Is it true that the participant would have to acknowledge the work as art before it "means" anything (is meaningful), other than a disturbance in "the field." Is my art just meaningful/meaningless clutter?
